The BUTTING management knows the crucial success factor for our company: The basis – which no technological developments can replace – is the special know-how of our staff. Every individual is given opportunities to improve their personal competences and further develop their range of abilities and skills. Apart from a variety of external training opportunities, the family business offers its staff a comprehensive in-house staff programme.
For several years, this opportunity for further training has been offered to staff in Knesebeck free of charge. The programme is published once a year and comprises a changing variety of seminars and talks. The topics selected have included different focus topics, such as BUTTING expertise, personal skills, languages and leisure time. There is a choice between a wide range of different training opportunities: from talks on surface technology through online language courses to computer courses.
Thus for example, all the employees can take part in a “taster course in welding”, learn about the theoretical basis of welding processes and carry out practical welding exercises independently. In addition, talks about relevant topics on children’s upbringing and health are offered as part of the Parents’ Forum. The leisure area is not neglected either: In addition to a first aid “refresher” course, staff can gain a deeper understanding in a photography seminar, for example.
Meike Schmidt, in charge of the programme in the BUTTING Academy, is confident: “Our staff make intensive use of the seminar programme. Thus the number of staff applications for the seminars has constantly increased compared with previous years. So I assume that this year too will produce a positive echo.”
