Nature can breathe with us
In the context of a sustainable development process at BUTTING, a central principle of our corporate governance is the equal weighting given to environmental protection as to other company objectives. We expect our employees, customers and suppliers to act responsibly and in an environmentally friendly manner, reflected in a trusting and open cooperation on all matters relating to environmental protection.
Environmental protection is of central importance to us. Limited resources and conservation of the environment require an awareness of the effects on the environment of all processes and consistent and sustainable optimisation of the production process on the basis of these aspects.
Against this background, BUTTING has implemented the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001. Legal provisions and official requirements are minimum standards for us and we will seek to exceed these where possible. The requirements of the 12th Directive of the Federal Emission Control Act (BImSchV) are implemented in the EMS.
Thus the EMS regulates the implementation of measures to avoid damaging the environment, monitors environmentally relevant plants and supports executives on all environmental protection issues. In so doing, the EMS from BUTTING is divided into the main fields of activity
- Environmental protection
- Waste management
- Hazardous materials management
- Hazardous incident management
For BUTTING, environmental protection means avoiding threats to people and the environment, continually reducing energy consumption and minimising emissions and waste. In this way, we actively contribute to safeguarding our natural resources.
The Knesebeck site is inspected once a year by the responsible supervisory authority as part of the Hazardous Incident Ordinance (12. BlmSchV). The last on-site inspection pursuant to Section 17 (2) of the Hazardous Incident Ordinance by the Braunschweig State Trade Inspectorate took place on September 12, 2024.
