Our group of talented and dedicated young welders took part in the district Jugend schweißt competition in Hanover in May. The German Welding Society (DVS) invited up-and-coming welding experts to the SLV competence centre in Hannover for this competition where trainees from across the district competed against each other in three different welding techniques. Nine up-and-coming plant fitters and industrial mechanics from BUTTING in Knesebeck qualified for this competition, including plant mechanic Hannes Mielmann. At the district competition, he achieved an impressive result of 100 % in the TIG welding process. His outstanding performance qualified him for the national competition.
This gave him the chance to display his skills to some of the best young welders in Germany. His competitors came from 13 other associations across Germany who had also previously qualified as winners in district and state competitions. Here, too, Hannes Mielmann successfully demonstrated his skill and experience by seeing off his competitors and ultimately winning the national competition with an overall score of 97 %. This victory secured him a place in the international championship due to take place this year at the Welding and Cutting trade fair in Beijing.
"This success underscores our commitment to training excellence and the nurturing of young talent in stainless steel processing," says Laureen Safarik, Head of Human Resources at BUTTING in Knesebeck. "Hannes' outstanding achievement reflects not only his dedication and talent but also our high-quality training programmes at BUTTING. We pride ourselves on creating an environment in which young professionals can reach their full potential."
