The training sessions for the Chinese teachers comprised various seminars, for example on German history, the political system and economic development, the school and educational system in Germany and different technological developments. The programme also included excursions to Berlin and Hamburg and to neighbouring European countries.
The teaching staff spent the period from 28 October to 10 November at BUTTING in Knesebeck, in order to get to know the parent plant and experience first hand how the principle of action-oriented learning works out in practice. They gained practical experience, including in the workshop of the stainless steel processor, where a systems mechanic demonstrated the various welding technologies on typical components.
BUTTING is supporting BBS II in the introduction and practical implementation of the dual training system at LEVC for a career as a systems mechanic, based on the German model. In 2013 and 2014, Frank Tetzlaff, a trainer in the BUTTING project workshop and Heinrich Meyer, a teacher at BBS II, visited LEVC in Tieling, China, to take part in setting up the curriculum. The visit of the Chinese delegation to Germany was the next step within the cooperation between BBS II and LEVC. Close cooperation between BUTTING in Tieling and LEVC is planned in the future.
