As early as 1975, Brigitte Blechinger began her commercial training at BUTTING. For many years she was head of the department responsible for sales. Our international customers from the oil and gas industry, and also her staff and executives, value her specialist skills and extensive knowledge of the market. In future, she will support BUTTING in a consultancy role in her specialist area.
Kerstin Wegener and Cord Lütkemüller will share responsibility for the area. Ms Wegener, the engineer, will lead the "Proposals" team. Mr Lütkemüller, the technical specialist, takes on leadership of the "Project Completion" team.
Kerstin Wegener began her professional career at BUTTING by training as an industrial mechanic. Her efforts gained her a scholarship from our family business to study mechanical engineering. After her return she first spent some years in various sales departments before joining the production planning and management department. For four years she worked under the management of Brigitte Blechinger in Sales.
Cord Lütkemüller has been working at BUTTING for more than 24 years. After his apprenticeship as a materials tester and further training as a civil engineering technician, he worked first in Acceptance I, and then in Acceptance II, in quality assurance. He then switched to Sales. Since 2012 he has been building up project management for major projects in the oil and gas industry.
Norbert Heinzle, Managing Director at BUTTING in Knesebeck, explains: "Thanks to their longstanding experience and comprehensive specialist knowledge, both employees were predestined for their new task. The two managers can thus give even greater support to our customers in the oil and gas industry to find their individual solutions and assist them in their projects."
The Line pipes and clad pipes sales area supports projects in the oil and gas industry. Since 1978, BUTTING has been able to demonstrate its competence in welding, forming and materials technology in this industry – with a large number of deliveries for on-shore, off-shore and subsea projects. Here we produced, in particular, flowlines, riser pipes and pipes for topsides (FPSO platform) as well as line pipes. Both stainless steel pipes and clad pipes were used in the process.
"We are the only pipe manufacturer in the world that produces metallurgically clad and mechanically clad pipes. The production of customised, ready-for-installation pipes repeatedly imposes the highest quality and precision demands on BUTTING. Thus in years to come we aim to consolidate our market position in this segment and if possible to expand it further," explains Kerstin Wegener, referring to her goals. Cord Lütkemüller adds: "The investments in 12-m production in Knesebeck and Könnern open up new possibilities to expand production capacities and position them to meet our customers' growing requirements. We will be delighted to tackle this challenge in future too."
