BUTTING sponsors Deutschlandstipendium scholarship holder

Since the beginning of the year, BUTTING has been engaged as an industry partner at the Clausthal University of Technology. By cooperating with the university, the stainless steel manufacturer aims to attract talented students for internships, as well as bachelor's and master's theses, and to carry out joint development projects.

Volker Lahmann and Mathias Schlundt, former students at Clausthal University of Technology and managers at BUTTING in Knesebeck, are contributing their experience and knowledge from their studies to further strengthen the cooperation between the university and the company.

“We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Clausthal University of Technology and to offer students the opportunity to gain practical experience at a leading company in the stainless steel industry. We are delighted to be supporting a scholarship holder from the Bachelor of Process Engineering / Chemical Engineering programme this year,” says Volker Lahmann, Business Unit Director Technology and Technical Sales.

“The collaboration with TU Clausthal enables BUTTING to actively participate in the training and promotion of future specialists and at the same time drive forwards innovative developments in the field of stainless steel processing,” explains Mathias Schlundt, Materials Engineer & Team Leader Laboratory.

As part of its efforts to promote young talent, BUTTING is planning to award another Deutschlandstipendium scholarship in the coming year. Laureen Safarik, HR Manager responsible for the scholarship programme at BUTTING explains: “We see the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship as both a means of financial support for students and an opportunity to strengthen our ties to the university and show our appreciation for academic excellence.”

The Deutschlandstipendium is a scholarship programme of the German Government that provides financial support to particularly talented and high-achieving students. Half of the funding comes from the federal government and half from sponsors such as companies, foundations and private individuals. Scholarship holders receive a monthly payment, regardless of their income or that of their parents.
