Tobias Kain, Managing Director of BUTTING CryoTech, accepted the award from Thorsten Glauber, Bavarian State Minister for the Environment, at Nymphenburg Palace in Munich. "For more than two decades, we have been actively practising environmental and climate protection in our company. For example, we generate green electricity via our own photovoltaic system and use LED strips for low-energy lighting in our production halls and offices."
The Bavarian family business sees sustainable corporate management as a fundamental requirement. It is a prerequisite for developing innovative and climate-friendly technology solutions in the field of vacuum-insulated pipes and valves for cryogenic gases.
BUTTING CryoTech has already been committed to the increased use of renewable energies for several years with its product solutions. For example, the company was involved in the creation of the world's first hydrogen-powered ferry. This work resulted in important patents for BUTTING CryoTech relating to hydrogen refuelling of ships. Now, the Bavarian family business is working together with a French manufacturer on a container-based technology solution for electrolyser systems to produce green hydrogen. The tasks involved range from engineering to production to assembly.
As Tobias Kain explains, "True to our motto 'For a better quality of life', we want to make sure that our BUTTING products make an equally valuable contribution to our society as to our employees and customers. In the future, we will continue to work actively towards environmental and climate protection in Bavaria and the world."
