BUTTING celebrates diversity: the Integration Workshop 2024 summer party

A special day for the Integrationswerkstatt Nordkreis Gifhorn: the summer party! It attracted over 800 visitors. They took the opportunity to admire the diverse work of the participants in the Gifhorn Job Center's program in Knesebeck.

The entire summer party was organized by the teams and the current participants themselves. Former participants were also very happy to help out on the day. On the day of the festival, garden furniture, nesting boxes, raised beds and numerous other handmade objects created over months of work were presented in the workshops of the integration workshop. The creative sewing work made from recycled materials was particularly impressive. The parent plant in Knesebeck had made old advertising banners available for this purpose. The guests enjoyed international dishes as well as coffee and cake in a cheerful, summery atmosphere. An atmosphere in which the visitors could experience for themselves what the work of the integration workshop is all about: sincere appreciation and benevolent community.

Additional highlights were the presentations by the Friends of Buituri from Hankensbüttel, who provided information about their aid to Uganda. The Bromer Land Nature Conservation Association (NBL) was also there and gave tips on how to promote nature conservation and biodiversity in your own garden. They also offered a varied program for young and old to get creative themselves. Caroline Höffeler's children's make-up station was a particular highlight for the youngest visitors.

"Our aim was to draw attention to the importance of the integration workshop for a diverse society," emphasizes Uschi Schüller, head of the integration workshop. "We also want to show that refugees and long-term jobseekers can also provide great support and make a valuable contribution to charitable institutions and therefore to our society."

The summer festival impressively illustrated how integration can succeed through joint commitment and a respectful community.
