Aircraft and aerospace industry: successful recertification

Nadcap certification for the "welding" sub-process has been available since the beginning of 2019. BUTTING in Knesebeck has now successfully completed the recertification.

For more than 40 years, BUTTING has been producing pipes, elbows, and flanges, as well as ready-to-fit pressure gas and fuel pipes for the aircraft and aerospace industry. The family business has continually expanded its range of services for this sector. An important component is continuous quality management with sector-specific certifications, such as in accordance with the Statement of Assessment (ASD-EASE EN 9100 without design).

A special milestone was the first certification under Nadcap at the beginning of last year for the "welding" sub-process. Nadcap is a global cooperative accreditation programme for aerospace technology, defence and related industries. The Nadcap programme ensures a globally consistent quality standard that the aircraft aerospace industry relies for processes to manufacture and test its components. On this basis, the first orders were manufactured in 2019 under Nadcap's rules for aviation technology.

After successful certification, a monitoring process took place at the end of 2019 and has now been successfully completed. As a result, BUTTING received the recertification document for the "welding" sub-process.

Dennis Lahmann, Sales Customised components, shows obvious pride: "The Nadcap standard is one of the most demanding certifications in this industry. Now we will take the next step: preparations for the certification of the special non-destructive testing sub-process, including ‘X-raying‘, have already started. We are ready to implement the high standards demanded by our customers for projects in the aerospace industry."
