The success story of BUTTING in Schwedt began on 1 April 1991. Work began as a maintenance service for the local paper-mill, with four employees in a small shed with a workshop. After the move to the present site, the first major installation orders followed. Today BUTTING in Schwedt is our expert unit for the construction of vessels and pipes, international installation work and industry services. Five large workshops with a production area of more than 14 000 m² and a modern administration building are in use. Extensive storage areas with an attached dispatch office are situated on the company’s 90 000 m² site. Courage, farsightedness and strategic investment have allowed BUTTING to grow into one of the largest employers in the region, with more than 350 staff.
Employees and their families and all others interested were invited to inspect the production shops at BUTTING during the Open Day. More than 1 000 visitors accepted the invitation and found out more about BUTTING as an employer and about the products of the stainless steel processor. In addition to musical contributions, the family programme included a variety of attractions for adults and children, such as a bungee trampoline, children’s face-painting and an obstacle course with mini-forklift trucks and a revolving ladder.
During a reception, the company owner Hermann Butting welcomed invited guests from the fields of politics and administration, culture and industry, along with representatives of customers and suppliers. Hermann Butting said: “Thank you to our supporters and companions of many years’ standing. A particular thank you to our employees. We need brave, committed and reliable people to be successful as a company. Thanks to you we succeed in inspiring our customers and will lead BUTTING in Schwedt to a successful future.
At the end of the day, the management of BUTTING in Schwedt was able to draw completely positive conclusions: “We are inspired by the keen interest and the super atmosphere. Thank you very much to all the helpers and visitors.”
