Christmas celebrations for BUTTING pensioners

On 4 December, the annual pensioners’ Christmas celebrations took place at BUTTING in Knesebeck. Around 90 former employees, both pensioners and older employees working part-time, accepted the invitation of the Management and the Works Council to visit the festively decorated canteen of the family business.

As in previous years, Alexandra Soltau and the Works Council team took on the organisation of the festive afternoon - together they ensured that the event ran smoothly and handed out little Christmas presents to the senior citizens invited.

President Hermann Butting and Works Council Chairman Detlev Wolter delivered short speeches of welcome to the invited guests. In his look back at 2014, Hermann Butting reported on the company news - the construction of a new hall, the purchase of new machines and a major order in the Kashagan oilfield on the Caspian Sea; this was followed by a slide-show of the BUTTING Oktoberfest.

After the informative part of the celebration, the large cake buffet was opened: As in previous years, the members of the Works Council had provided a big selection of home-baked cakes. Managing directors and current executives mingled with the guests - and anecdotes from BUTTING's past were shared among all the participants. During the evening there was also the same snack as every year: the "obligatory" large Frankfurter.
